Absolute Beginners Bass Lessons is a starter’s course which works from simple songs like ‘Stand My Me and ‘Seventh Nation Army’ to the more advanced bass styles of ‘Under the Bridge’, ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ and ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’.

The lessons aim to focus on understanding rhythm, the melodic role of the bass and the very important role the bass plays in musical arrangements.

The student will learn to locate notes on each string and to play popular rhythmic patterns, so the student can start playing songs as early as the first lesson. Students will also be provided with a backing track featuring drums and guitar to practice with at home.

As the student advances, they can build on their skills in Rock, Blues, Funk Indie, Soul and Punk Bass Styles, Bass Scales, Chords and Arpeggios, Reading Music and Tablature, Bass Technique and Theory.

Students who wish to evaluate and test their skills can take graded exams in rock bass.
