Absolute Beginners Ukulele Lessons is a starter’s course with simple and instructive lessons that focuses on Ukulele chord shapes, rhythms and song structure.

Ukuleles are small, portable and an excellent introduction to music for a child. The Ukulele is a first step to learning the guitar and a great way for families, small groups or couples to enjoy music in a social setting.

The course involves a large selection of Ukulele classics that takes in modern contemporary hits like ‘Hey Soul Sister’, ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’, ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Broken Heart’, to jazz and pop standards like ‘Every time We Say Goodbye’ and ‘Dream A Little Dream of Me’ and a little fun with vaudeville hits like ‘When I’m Cleaning Windows’.

As the student advances, they can build on their skills with Ukulele Scales, Chords and Arpeggios, Reading Music and Tablature, and Ukulele Technique and Theory.

The advanced student can choose from 3,000 songs from artists in the fields of rock, pop, traditional and folk music, from contemporary hits to timeless ballads. This means the student can pick the songs they want to learn and develop their skills while playing the music of their favourite artists.

The Ukulele has come along way since its origins in Hawaii, hitting the height of popularity in the middle of the 20th century with vaudeville classics, pop hits and jazz standards, until suffering a decline with the growing dominance of guitar orientated rock music.

In the last decade the Ukulele has made a welcome return with a whole new generation of music fans learning to play a wide range of music styles on the instrument including popular contemporary hits like ‘Hey Soul Sister’ by Train, ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole and ‘Broken Heart’ by Eddie Vedder.
